A new fire broke out in Russia

The fire broke out in the morning of 13 January in an unfinished building on Kutuzovsky Avenue. The network reports that this is a Sberbank building in Russia.

Other sources report that a warehouse on the ground floor of a high-rise building under construction caught fire.

The fire covered at least 100 square metres and is spreading to the second floor. Another warehouse with paint and varnish materials is allegedly located there.

What is known about recent fires in Russia

In recent months, a large number of fires have been reported in Russia, often breaking out in Moscow and other regions. In particular, fires in ports, military facilities, factories, etc. have become more frequent.

For example, on 13 January, a large warehouse of the Wildberries store caught fire in St Petersburg, Russia. The fire covered at least 50,000 square metres, with at least 1,000 people in the warehouse at the time of the fire.

The fire was large-scale with very heavy smoke and could be seen from different parts of the city.

The damage caused by the fire in the warehouses in St. Petersburg could amount to 10 billion rubles or $114 million.
