According to the Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, a number of NATO and EU countries are allegedly considering the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine.

Fico announces the probable introduction of NATO troops into Ukraine

According to the journalists of the publication, the Slovak prime minister was unable to name the purpose of the possible introduction of NATO and EU troops into the territory of Ukraine, as well as the purpose of this decision, but noted that he learned about it allegedly from notes in preparation for the meeting of European leaders in Paris

I will limit myself to say that these theses (in preparation for the Paris meeting) imply a number of Nato and EU member states are considering that they will send their troops to Ukraine on a bilateral basis, Fizo said.

He emphasised that, in his opinion, such a step will only aggravate the situation.

At the same time, the Prime Minister of Slovakia noted that his country would not send its military to Ukraine.

Fico added that his country is ready to invite the Ukrainian military to conduct exercises, particularly demining territories.

Fico also said that he wants to open the topic of the peace plan in Paris.

How is it possible that we have a military plan, but no peaceful one? — declares Slovak PM.

What is known about the meeting of European leaders in Paris

According to Reuters, at least 20 leaders of the EU, the US and Canada plan to hold a meeting in Paris on February 26 to send a solid signal to Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin regarding their strong support for Ukraine.

It is known that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, British Foreign Secretary David Cameron, Spanish PM Pedro Sanchez, Dutch PM Mark Rutte, and the leaders of the Scandinavian and Baltic countries will participate in the meeting.

The US will be represented by Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Jim O'Brien, and Defence Minister Bill Blair will represent Canada.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy will also speak at the meeting.

French officials said a security conference in Munich earlier this month was imbued with "doom and gloom", and Macron sought to dispel that mood.

We are not doom and gloom. We want Russia to understand this. Russia will have to count on all of us together to put an end to this war and restore the rights of Ukraine, — declares the adviser to the French president.

According to him, this meeting is not planned to be used as an excuse to announce new military aid to Ukraine but rather as a collective reflection on ways to improve effectiveness on the ground and strengthen coordination between allies and Ukraine.

One area where progress can be made is the purchase of hundreds of thousands of ammunition from third countries, which France has previously been wary of.

We must be able to supply more shells. The principle is that shells will be procured where they are available. "There is no dogmatic (French) position," explains Macron's adviser.
