Before his visit to Uzhhorod, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico called Ukraine a country under the "absolute influence of the USA" and hinted that it would have to give up part of its territory to Russia.

Fico made scandalous statements about Ukraine

On January 24, Fico will come to Uzhhorod, where he will meet with his Ukrainian colleague Denys Shmyhal.

On the eve of the visit, the prime minister of Slovakia said that he intends to tell Shmyhal that he will oppose Ukraine's membership in NATO, veto it and block it.

This course is very important for me, — stressed Fico.

He called Ukraine a state that is under the "absolute influence of the USA", and also said that the Russians will not leave the occupied territories.

There must be some kind of compromise that will be very painful for both parties. And what are they waiting for? That the Russians will leave Crimea, Donbas and Luhansk? It is not real.

Fico also commented on Slovakia's decision not to join nearly 50 countries around the world that have condemned North Korea's supply of ballistic missiles to Russia.

The prime minister of Slovakia said that his country has no evidence of this. According to him, if this were true, then it is necessary to condemn such arms deliveries.

During the meeting with Shmyhal, the Slovak prime minister wants to clarify the list of humanitarian aid, but he also plans to confirm that Kyiv will not receive any weapons from Slovakia's warehouses, but he has no problems with commercial arms deliveries to Ukraine.

Slovakia's aid to Ukraine

Slovakia had already sent Ukraine 671 million euros in military aid before Fico came to power.

This includes all 13 of its MiG-29 fighters, a single battery of S-300 air defense systems, about 30 self-propelled missiles and 10 Zuzana 2 self-propelled systems.

On January 16, the Slovak parliament approved an amendment that gives the Ministry of Defense the authority to approve arms exports.

Such a decision of the parliament opens the way for state and private arms companies to continue arming Ukraine.
