How the soldiers of the 3rd assault unit fought in Avdiivka

During the approach to the city, units of the Third Assault Brigade cleared and leveled their positions in a single line of defense. Yes, one of them, "Raketa", was occupied by fighters of the 2nd and 3rd companies of the 2nd assault battalion. After that, the enemy began its assault.

One by one BMP brought the enemy landing force close to "Raketa". But the soldiers' immediate reaction, the opening of dense fire from machine guns, small arms, RPGs, and the enemy's infantry began to pour down, the military explained.

As a result, the Ukrainian military eliminated three Russian BMPs and 30 invaders in 15 minutes.

What is known about the retreat of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Avdiivka

The Russian army launched an offensive on Avdiivka in early October. According to British intelligence, Avdiyivka remains the main direction for Russia at the front.

Later, the Third Assault Brigade confirmed that they had been redeployed to the Avdiyivka region to strengthen Ukrainian defenses. The defenders showed footage from the city and noted that the fighting in this area was more severe than that in Bakhmut.

On February 16, the commander of the "Tavria" OSUV, Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, announced the decision to withdraw from the "Zenith" position on the southeastern outskirts of Avdiivka. Even later, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, stated that our soldiers left the city to avoid being surrounded by the enemy.

As President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted, the decision to withdraw the military was fair and professional.
