South Korea tightens export control to Russia and Belarus
The Ministry of Trade of South Korea reported this.
The ministry will focus on monitoring exports of "high-priority conventional goods," including chips that can be used in drones.
South Korea will try to inform exporters of the updated list of controlled products to prevent unauthorized exports due to a lack of awareness.
Sanctions on goods for military use
Last week, South Korea added 682 items of actual or potential military use to a list of goods that are prohibited from being shipped to Russia and Belarus.
The new rules include a ban on the export of:
heavy construction equipment,
batteries,
aviation components and machines,
Used cars with engines with a volume of 2,000 cm3 and more account for transfer of South Korean car exports to Russia.
Earlier in the day, the government also said it was investigating a company in South Korea sanctioned by the United States over its alleged ties to Russia.
Daesung International Trading was one of 93 entities added to the US Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security's "list of entities" subject to export restrictions.
