The FSB remotely recruited the suspect in the case in the summer of this year. He came to the attention of the Russian special services due to his destructive activity in pro-Kremlin Telegram channels, where he approved of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation. So he began to scout out information for the enemy about transporting weapons by rail in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
The SSU detained an FSB agent in the Dnipropetrovsk region for spying on military trains
According to the available data, the occupiers needed intelligence from the traitor to prepare airstrikes on railway facilities in the region. In this way, the invaders hoped to disrupt the logistics of supplying weapons and ammunition to the Armed Forces.
The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) reported this on its Facebook page.
The SSU employees worked ahead of time: they exposed the enemy agent promptly, documented the criminal acts and detained him in his apartment.
As the investigation established, the person involved was remotely recruited by the FSB in the summer of this year due to his destructive activity in pro-Kremlin Telegram channels, where he endorsed the armed aggression of the Russian Federation. The agent used an anonymous chat in a popular messenger to communicate with the FSB.
The SSU counter-intelligence conducted a special operation in Dnipro, as a result of which they detained another FSB agent. He became an official of one of the hub stations of Ukrzaliznytsia.
At the instruction of the aggressor, he collected information about the railway routes used to transport the military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In addition, the suspect was interested in intelligence about the amount and type of weapons delivered by rail.
For this purpose, the Russian agent recorded the place and time of passage of military echelons and tried to learn about their route with stops and destinations.
Firstly, the attacker tried to get as much information as possible about transferring Bradley armoured vehicles and Leopard tanks to the front.
Based on the collected evidence, the SSU investigators notified the perpetrator of suspicion under Chapter 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed under martial law).
He is currently in custody. The investigation is ongoing. The traitor faces life imprisonment.
The adjuster of the missile attack on Zaporizhzhia was detained
The SSU notes that the detainee is a resident, a representative of the Zaporizhia "Club of military reconstruction", which unites connoisseurs of the recreation of historical events, including military battles.
In mid-October 2023, he was recruited by the FSB to carry out subversive activities in the city.
The detainee chose the call sign "Palestinian" and created an anonymous chat in the messenger. He formed his group of informants, including four residents and his relatives.
The group scouted the bases of the Defense Forces on the territory of Zaporizhzhia and transmitted the geolocations of residential infrastructure and industrial facilities.
