The Russian agent scouted the deployment locations and movement routes of the Defence Forces in the Donetsk region. She was recruited by her son, a fighter from terroristic “DRP”.

The SSU detained a Russian informant in Donetsk region

According to the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) investigation, the suspect tried to identify and hand over to the aggressor the locations of personnel and heavy weapons of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Bakhmut direction.

In the zone of special attention of the henchmen of the enemy were the routes of movement of Ukrainian armored vehicles and MLRS.

She also collected information about the consequences of Russian strikes on the civilian infrastructure of Kostyantynivka.

The woman sent the information via messenger to her son, a fighter of the occupation groups of the Russian Federation, who is on the front lines and cooperates with Russian intelligence.

What threatens the detainee

SSU officers detained the woman in Slovyansk, where she had moved as a migrant from one of the front-line cities. During searches of the detainee's apartment, a mobile phone with evidence of her criminal activities was seized.

According to the investigation, the suspect was a resident of Donetsk region, who her son involved in intelligence and subversive activities against Ukraine.

The woman went around the area, where she secretly recorded Ukrainian objects and asked for "necessary" information during communication with neighbours.

She was charged with suspicion under Chapter 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed under martial law).

The perpetrator is in custody. She faces life imprisonment.
