By the FSB instructions, the adjuster tried to identify the bases of Ukrainian air defence systems in the Dnipro and monitored the results of the aggressor's missile strikes on military facilities located in the city.
A former "LPR" terrorist worked for the FSB in Dnipro
The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) detained a recidivist militant who was spying on Ukrainian air defence and was preparing to "evacuate" to Luhansk.
The SSU press service reported this on Facebook.
The SSU counter-intelligence detained in Dnipro, a former militant of the LPR terrorist organisation who worked for the FSB.
On the instructions of the Russian special service, this figure tried to identify the base points of Ukrainian air defence systems.
The detainee also tracked the results of the aggressor's missile strikes on military facilities located in the city.
For surveillance and subversive activities against Ukraine, the person involved received money from the invaders on a bank card.
In completing all assigned tasks, the FSB promised its informant to "evacuate" him to the temporarily occupied part of the Luhansk region. However, SSU officers prevented the perpetrator from fleeing from justice and detained him in his apartment.
He maintained remote communication with the Russian special service through a "liaison". He turned out to be a fighter of the occupation groups of the aggressor country, who is in the temporarily captured part of the territory in the east of Ukraine.
To obtain intelligence, the detainee went around the area and covertly took photos and videos of essential objects on his phone camera.
During the search of the detainee's apartment, a smartphone and a bank card, which he used in criminal activities, were found.
Based on the collected evidence, the investigators of the Security Service informed him of the suspicion under Chapter 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (collaborative activity). The suspect is currently in custody. He faces 15 years in prison.
What is known about the Russian agent
An agent of the Russian FSB was spying on the Third Assault Brigade and wanted to get a job at a defence plant.
The law enforcement officers found out that the person involved tried to identify and transfer to the aggressor country the locations of the reserve command posts of the Third Assault Brigade and the Ukrainian Ground Forces HQ.
He also "leaked" the coordinates of crucial energy and heat-generating enterprises that provide light and heating to the majority of the civil infrastructure of the capital to the occupiers.
According to SSU cyber experts, FSB "reports" contained information about electrical substations, main power transmission lines, and the boiler houses of the "Kyivteploenergo" state enterprise.
