Law enforcement officers detained a Russian agent who was preparing a new air attack by the Russian Federation on the civilian infrastructure of Odesa. She helped the military of the Russian Federation detect anti-aircraft missiles.

How did the collaborator help the Russian army?

According to the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), the occupiers instructed their henchmen to identify the locations of anti-aircraft systems in the territory of the regional centre to bypass Ukrainian air defence during the attack.

The occupiers were primarily interested in the possible coordinates of anti-aircraft missile installations on the coastal territory of the city.

The invaders also tried to determine the presence of military ships equipped with anti-aircraft defence in local ports.

The Russian troops planned to "apply" the received information in the course of preparing new attacks on the city, including the use of cruise missiles and Shahed-type kamikaze drones.

However, the law enforcement officers exposed these plans on time, preventing their implementation.

What is known about the detention of the Russian agent

Before the arrest of the Russian agent, all her criminal activities were documented step by step from the "first steps" of intelligence activity.

This made it possible to inform the command of the Defence Forces in advance about the new threat of airstrikes and to prepare for defence, the department noted.

The identity of the Russian curator of the enemy agent was also established. He heads a reconnaissance group of Russian troops stationed in temporarily occupied Sevastopol.

It was established that the aggressor remotely engaged the Odesa woman to cooperate in January of this year as an ideological supporter of rashism.

So far, she has been informed of the suspicion of treason committed under martial law.

The perpetrator is in custody. She faces life imprisonment.
