Law enforcement officers detained a traitor who was pointing Russian missiles at Kharkiv and was waiting for the capture of the city. She faces life imprisonment.

Russian agent called for more frequent shelling of Kharkiv

According to the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), a Russian henchman was spying on the Defence Forces in Kharkiv.

The detainee was a particularly valuable agent for the enemy, as she performed a "control" function for the Russian secret services. In particular, the suspect went to the area and checked the coordinates sent to her by the raiders, the SSU informs.

The traitor photographed "required" objects and marked them on Google Maps. Then she forwarded the corresponding "report" via messenger.

According to the investigation, in her correspondence with the enemy, the agent called for more frequent shelling of Kharkiv in order to cause maximum destruction to the city.

She also hoped for the capture of the regional centre and its "joining" into the Russian Federation.

SSU employees exposed the perpetrator at the initial stage of her intelligence activity. This made it possible to document her criminal actions step by step, to detain and thereby prevent a series of rocket attacks on the city, — the SSU statement states.

What is known about the detained Russian collaborator?

The traitor turned out to be an unemployed resident, an ideological supporter of rashism. At the end of 2023, she was remotely recruited by a representative of Russian intelligence.

The detainee cooperated with the aggressor because she hoped that, in the event of the capture of Kharkiv, she would receive a "position" in the occupation administration of the Russian Federation.

During the searches, a phone with evidence of intelligence and subversive activities for the benefit of the Russian secret services was found in the woman's possession.

The law enforcement officers informed the detainee of the suspicion of treason committed under martial law.

The detainee is in custody. She faces life imprisonment.
