The collaborator gave 24 ambulances to Russian occupants for abduction of Ukrainian children to Russia.

How Russian occupants abducted Ukrainian children

As noted, during the occupation of Kherson, the then deputy head of the emergency medical centre, Inessa Chamlay, handed over 24 ambulances to the occupiers.

She signed the relevant "order". And then she also assisted the Nazis in the mass deportation of Ukrainian children. They were taken in ambulances from the Kherson region to Crimea and then to Russia.

The collaborator tried to flee the country. First, she went to Lviv. And then - abroad. The SSU caught her at the Krakivets border crossing point," the post says.

She faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.

What is known about the abduction of Ukrainian children

On Children's Day in 2023, the Online.UA team presented the documentary project Crippled Childhood, which tells the stories of Ukrainian children who were abducted and forcibly taken to Russia.

In the film Crippled Childhood, children and their parents openly share their stories: some of them have been in captivity, some have been forcibly taken to a "rehabilitation camp", some have been separated from their parents during so-called filtration measures.

It is important to understand that in more than a year and a half of full-scale war, Ukraine has managed to return less than 400 children. At the same time, Russia claims to have "evacuated" 744,000 Ukrainian children.

Since diplomacy with the aggressor country is not working, Russia continues to illegally take children from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

The project documents the testimonies of children about the war crimes of the Russian Federation against the Ukrainian people.
