NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg is convinced that the United States will not leave the bloc, even if Donald Trump becomes the new US president again.

The US will remain a member of NATO under all circumstances

Jens Stoltenberg promised that the Alliance would not lose the US, as it is in the interests of official Washington's security to have more than 30 powerful allies.

He also noted that neither China nor Russia has anything like that, so the States will never want to leave the Alliance.

According to the Secretary General of NATO, during the meetings, he never heard from Donald Trump that the US would refuse to help Europe if it noted an enemy invasion.

Jens Stoltenberg once again reminded that the main reproach of the former president of the United States to him was that the European allies did not spend enough money on defence.

However, what is essential to understand is that after the invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, the European allies began to increase these costs rapidly.

So we have a lot to say about the distribution of the (financial — ed.) burden,” the NATO Secretary General emphasized.

What Trump says about US membership in NATO

Rumours that the United States may leave the Alliance began to spread after the loud confession of the European Commissioner for the Internal Market, Thierry Breton.

He recently said that Trump, during his presidency, promised to withdraw the US from the North Atlantic Alliance and said that Europe should not count on help in case of war.

The ex-leader of the White House issued a new statement on this matter.

It (US withdrawal from NATO — ed.) depends on whether they (other NATO states. — ed.) will treat us properly... Look, NATO has taken advantage of our country. European countries took advantage, Trump said.
