Information began to spread on the Internet about the alleged preparation of an offensive by the Russians in the north of Ukraine and the threat of the occupation of Sumy. The head of the Sumy city military administration, Oleksiy Drozdenko, denied the fake.
What is known about the fake offensive in the north and the occupation of Sumy
The head of the Sumy City Military Administration (CMA), Oleksiy Drozdenko, reported that Russia is spreading information about the alleged offensive of the occupying forces in the north of Ukraine and the occupation of Sumy.
We should add that information is spreading on the network about the enemy's alleged plans to launch, particularly in the north of Ukraine from the Sumy direction.
The threat of Russian sabotage groups in the north of Ukraine
On February 3, territorial defence fighters in the Sumy region stopped a Russian sabotage and intelligence group that was trying to cross the state border of Ukraine. The battle lasted an hour and a half, and the enemy was pushed far beyond the Ukrainian border.
In December, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine announced that Russian troops had intensified their sabotage and intelligence operations in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions.
Nayev stated that since the beginning of 2024, Russian subversive and reconnaissance groups tried to enter the borders of Chernihiv and Sumy regions five times.
On January 27, a Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group fired at a car with civilians travelling on the road between two villages of the Khotin community. A 54-year-old man, who was driving, and his 68-year-old sister died.
