Reshuffles are underway in the British government. The former Prime Minister of Great Britain, David Cameron, was appointed as the new Secretary of State, Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs.

The ex-prime minister became the head of the Foreign Ministry of Great Britain.

The former Prime Minister of Great Britain David Cameron became the new Minister of Foreign Affairs in the government of Rishi Sunak.

Although I have been out of frontline politics for the past seven years, I hope that my experience as Conservative leader for eleven years and Prime Minister for six will help me to help the Prime Minister meet these vital challenges," wrote Cameron.

In addition, as part of Rishi Sunak's government reshuffle, ex-secretary James Cleverly was appointed Home Secretary to replace Suella Braverman.

Braverman was sacked as home secretary after her high-profile op-ed in which she accused the London police of bias in favor of pro-Palestinian protests.

Cameron was given a noble title of life peerage to hold a position in the Cabinet.

In Britain, holders of a life peerage are granted the title of baron and the right to a seat in the House of Lords if they are of the appropriate age and nationality.

Sunak's office said on November 13 that King Charles III had approved Cameron's seat in the House of Lords, allowing him to return to government despite not being an elected member of parliament.

In a social media post, the Conservative Party of Britain said Sunak's reshuffle today “strengthens his team in government to make long-term decisions for a brighter future”.

What is known about the new British Foreign Ministry

David Cameron was the Prime Minister of Great Britain from May 11, 2010, to July 13, 2016.

Cameron has been absent from the political scene for more than seven years after he stepped down as prime minister in July 2016 following the referendum on Britain's exit from the EU.

During his tenure in office, in 2016, Britain held a referendum in which the British voted almost equally to leave the European Union (at the time, the turnout was 72.2%, and the distribution was 51.9% for Brexit and 48.2% — against). The country has been a member of the EU since 1976.
