Air defence forces destroyed 9 attack drones during Russia's night attack

On the night of December 22-23, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with 9 attack drones. Air defence forces destroyed all air targets.

Drone attack on December 22

The Air Force reports that from 18:00 on 22 December to midnight on 23 December, Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine with Shahed unmanned aerial vehicles from the areas of Balaklava in Crimea and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia.

All nine Shaheds were destroyed by the Ukrainian Air Force and Defence Forces in Odesa and the Khmelnytsky regions.

Consequences of the drone attack

Oleh Kiper, the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, said that a blast wave damaged glass in one of the educational institutions in the Odesa Oblast during the air defence forces' combat operations.

There are no dead or injured.

As a reminder, according to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, since 24 February 2022, the Russian occupiers have fired about 7,400 missiles of various types at Ukraine, and since September 2022 — 3,700 Shahed attack drones.

Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ihnat clarified during the telethon that the missiles in question were of all types. At the same time, the Defence Forces destroyed about 1,600 missiles and 2,900 drones.
