The best gift for Putin. Biden is sounding the alarm over a fatal mistake by US Congress

The White House
Joe Biden

American leader Joe Biden publicly calls on members of the US Congress not to delay the decision on additional funding for assistance to Ukraine, because it will be a "gift" for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

Biden asks Congress not to leave Kyiv without the necessary assistance

According to the head of the White House, Congress is close to making a fatal mistake against the background of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

If Congress goes into recess before approving additional aid funding for Ukraine, it would be the best gift Putin could ever hope for. I urge them to do the right thing, the US president warned.

Despite the statement of the head of the White House, the leader of the Republicans in the Senate, Mitch McConnell, has already made a disappointing forecast.

He believes there is almost no chance that Congress will be able to approve an additional funding package for Ukraine before Christmas, even if both parties agree in the coming days.

(It's) virtually impossible even if we do get a deal to draft it, get it through the Senate, get it to the House by Christmas... There won't be a deal until Joe Biden and the Republicans come to an agreement. Without this, there will be no agreement, Mitch McConnell said.

As already mentioned earlier, Republicans and Democrats cannot agree because of problems with solving the migration crisis on the US-Mexico border.

What is known about the talks between Zelenskyy and Biden

According to the American leader, he, his team and every US citizen are interested in Ukraine defeating Russia.

We want Ukraine to win the war and, as stated in the UN charter, to protect its sovereignty.

Joe Biden emphasizes that the strong bipartisan support of the Ukrainian people remains.

According to the head of the White House, a few Republicans do not want to support Kyiv, but they are not the majority.

We are in negotiations for funding, I am not making any promises, but we are very hopeful that these will be productive negotiations.
