The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) showed the combat work results of the "Kabul 9" special unit.
What is known about the "Kabul 9" special unit successes
According to the DIU, from the beginning of their participation in hostilities, the soldiers of the special unit burned the enemy with their forces and means:
12 tanks;
25 armoured personnel vehicles;
two Su-25 aircraft;
11 artillery systems;
12 EW and ELINT systems.
What else is the special unit "Kabul 9" known for?
In addition, the special unit cooperated with various operational and task groups of Ukraine's Armed Forces.
Specifically, the unit's drone operators helped detect, adjust fire, and destroy:
33 self-propelled guns;
16 EW and ELINT systems;
24 anti-aircraft warfare systems;
Two enemy command posts.
The DIU said that the unit was created at the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia. The DIU chief, Kyrylo Budanov, directly contributed to its creation. Ukrainian special services and Armed Forces veterans formed it.
"The name of the special unit is an abbreviation, the meaning of which is known only to its soldiers. After participating in the battle for Kyiv in Gostomel and the Brovary direction, special forces scouts went to the south of Ukraine, where they continue to destroy the enemy to this day," the report said.
