The Bloomberg news agency learned from its insiders that the European Union is not going to tolerate blackmail from Hungary regarding the allocation of aid to Ukraine. Official Brussels is already preparing a revenge plan.

Ukraine will still receive aid from the EU

According to journalists, the bloc's leaders are ready to take a tough stance against official Budapest if the country's pro-Russian Prime Minister Viktor Orban does not unblock a 50 billion euro aid package for Ukraine during the February 1 summit.

What is essential to understand is that on January 22, she spoke out against Brussels' proposal to create a new fund, which would provide the most reliable way of supplying the most crucial military aid to the Armed Forces.

An insider of the news agency claims that the members of the European Union intend to approve the aid package for Ukraine at the summit in Brussels on February 1, despite all the statements and decisions of Hungary.

A possible fallback option is for the rest of the EU member states to provide money to Ukraine outside of the EU budget process.

The EU intends to take revenge on Hungary against the background of blocking aid to Kyiv

According to anonymous sources, if Orbán blackmails Brussels again, the European Union will launch the next phase of punitive measures against Hungary.

As a result, everything may end with Budapest being officially deprived of the right to vote in the bloc.

Journalists have already predicted that such a development could lead to a broader confrontation, as the pro-Russian Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, recently stated that he plans to defend Hungary.

It is also worth noting that the head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry, Peter Szijarto, recently stated that his country does not support a review of the current financing mechanism, known as the European Peace Fund, under which member states receive compensation for the weapons they send to Ukraine.

Siyarto said that the issue of financing will be discussed during his meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba on January 29. Budapest will consider lifting the blockade if Ukraine provides "guarantees" that Hungarian companies will not be added to the list of war sponsors.
