Already on November 15, the European Commission intends to present the 12th package of sanctions against the Russian Federation.

The European Union will introduce new sanctions against Russia

The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, made this statement on November 13.

According to the head of European diplomacy, the 12th package of sanctions against the aggressor country of Russia will not only include new names but

They will also affect Russian diamonds and oil. Official Brussels intends to introduce other restrictions, which will become known later.

By the way, recently, the European Union finally explained the delay in proposing a new package of sanctions against the Russian Federation.

As the representatives of the EC stated recently, the main reason is that the negotiations on the preparation of sanctions were unexpectedly delayed for everyone.

The European Commission claims that this prevented Ursula von der Leyen from presenting a proposal for the 12th package of restrictions against the Russian Federation last week.

12th package of EU sanctions against Russia: what is currently known

During a recent visit to Kyiv, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said that official Brussels will soon announce the 12th package of sanctions against Russia.

According to Bloomberg, this package involves restrictions on trade in goods with a combined value of about 5 billion euros.

In addition, it was noted that it will include more than 100 individuals and four dozen legal entities.

According to journalists, Brussels is also arguing about the employment of Russians in the so-called "sensitive" sectors and the repatriation of Russian assets to the EU.

As mentioned earlier, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, called on our partners to increase sanctions pressure on the aggressor country.
