The representatives of the British government reminded that the training of Ukrainian pilots started in August 2023.

As of December, it was completed by six experienced Ukrainian pilots.

In addition, it is emphasized that another ten trainee pilots continue their primary flight training, mastering aviation medicine and centrifuge training in Britain.

The head of the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain, Grant Shapps, has already made an official statement on this matter.

I am proud of the support that the Royal Air Force provides to the next generation of Ukrainian fighter pilots and ground crews, who will be the first line of defense in protecting Ukraine's skies, he said.

How Ukrainian pilots were trained in Great Britain

As you know, within the framework of the British program, Ukrainian pilots were allowed to quickly acquire skills that are extremely important for the transition to the next stage of training on Western fighter jets.

Moreover, they bring them closer to the standard approach to flying according to NATO standards.

Pilots undergo practical training on Grob Tutor aircraft. They learn general control procedures, instrument piloting, medium and low level navigation, and formation flying.

It is essential to understand that after training in Britain, our pilots must also pass the advanced training in another European country.

In addition, it is emphasized that dozens of Ukrainian aviation technicians are undergoing training in English, focused on engineering specialities.
