DIU to evaluate the prospects of conducting an all-for-all exchange

POWs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

According to Andrii Yusov, a representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU), work on the exchange of Ukrainian prisoners of war is ongoing, and the results should be expected soon.

What is known about the prospects for resuming the exchange of prisoners of war between Ukraine and the Russian Federation

It is possible. This is a task. But this is a long and difficult job... Of course, this is what international law provides for — the return of all defenders to their homes, Yusov noted, answering a question about the prospects of conducting an exchange in the "all for all" format.

The intelligence representative added that work is being done parallel to continue other individual group exchanges.

If we talk about our trump cards, of course, the more successes of the Ukrainian Security and Defense Forces, the more replenishment of the exchange fund, the more arguments for preparing the next exchanges. And such arguments appear, DIU representative explains.

Yusov emphasized that the negotiations and the work of the Coordination Staff on the preparation of exchanges are ongoing.

And there will definitely be results. We all want this to happen as soon as possible, DIU representative noted.

What is known about the re-education of Russian prisoners of war

Yusov noted that the Ukrainian side is trying to re-educate Russian prisoners of war.

In particular, Russian prisoners of war are taught a history course to get rid of the Kremlin's lies in their heads.

He noted that teaching the history of Ukraine to Russians is a matter "not of repeating the school curriculum, but of disarming people who are affected by racist propaganda."

Work is underway in this direction. In order for the prisoners of war to have an objective perception of the true causes of this genocidal war, who is really to blame for this war, what terrible war crimes they committed against our people. Of course, they should know about it, Yusov said.

According to him, such information is provided to the occupiers voluntarily.

From childhood, many curiously discover real things that are understandable to a Ukrainian or another European.
