The HQ for overcoming difficult weather conditions consequences began its work

In Ukraine, a 24-hour Headquarters for liquidating the consequences of bad weather approaching the country has started working.

The press service of the Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine announced this on Facebook.

From January 7 to 9, difficult weather conditions are expected: a sharp drop in air temperature to 19-25 degrees of frost and heavy snowfall throughout Ukraine. The situation on the roads will be complicated due to ice and wet snow, the report says.

If necessary, traffic on state roads may be restricted or blocked.

First of all, this applies to highways:

  • M-05 Kyiv-Odesa;

  • M-30 Stryi-Uman-Dnipro-Izvaryne;

  • M-13 Kropyvnytskyi-Platonove;

  • M-22 Poltava-Oleskandria;

  • H-08 Boryspil-Dnipro-Zaporizhia-Mariupol;

  • H-11 Dnipro-Mykolaiv;

  • H-24 Blagovishchenske-Mykolaiv;

  • N-31 Dnipro-Tsarychanka-Kobelyaki-Reshetylivka and other main routes, depending on the weather.

You can get up-to-date information on the state of the roads by calling the 24-hour hotline of the headquarters: +380674006080. In case of road emergencies, you should contact the following numbers: 101, 102 and 103.

We urge drivers to refrain from trips, especially long distances, in the coming days. If it is impossible to postpone the trip, take with you anti-skid chains on wheels, additional fuel, a thermal blanket, a charged power bank and a thermos with tea, the ministry said.

Drivers of large vehicles were recommended to use parking lots along state roads.

In order not to put yourself and other road users at risk, as well as not to create an additional burden on the work of emergency services, we urge you not to leave the house without a critical need, the department urges.

Earlier, the head of the State Agency for Reconstruction and Development of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Mustafa Nayem, warned that the bad weather could lead to difficulties in traffic on the roads and the need to close them or partially restrict traffic to clear the snow.
