Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto opposed the idea of sending NATO troops to Ukraine, noting that it would be an obstacle to diplomatic efforts.
Italy opposes sending NATO troops to Ukraine
At the same time, the head of the Italian Defense Ministry, in a comment to the journalists of La Stampa, acknowledged Ukraine's complaints about the too slow pace of receiving weapons from Western partners.
He emphasized that the representatives of France and Poland, who support the sending of troops to Ukraine, should speak about it exclusively on their behalf.
At the same time, the Italian minister emphasized that in a year Western countries reached a level of production that can help Kiev in the supply of weapons, but it is "still lower than in Russia."
Poland announced the presence of NATO troops in Ukraine
The head of the Polish Foreign Ministry, Radosław Sikorski, said that the military personnel of some NATO countries are allegedly already on the territory of Ukraine.
He also supported the French leader Emmanuel Macron's initiative to send NATO troops to the territory of Ukraine.
In his opinion, this could destroy Russia's planned scenario.
Sikorsky noted that by invading Ukraine, Russia demonstrated that it is not capable of accepting Western values at the level of civilization and cannot coexist peacefully with neighboring countries.
So, according to Sikorsky, NATO should return to its original role.
