The Russian Central Committee decided to hold "elections" for the President of the Russian Federation in the occupied territories of Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions of Ukraine. According to Russian laws, martial law has been imposed on these territories.

During the consultations, representatives of the Russian Central Committee, the Ministry of Defense and regional authorities concluded that "holding presidential elections in new Russian regions is possible."

The head of the Russian Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, said that by December 12, it is necessary to decide on the presidential elections in these territories after consultations with the departments.

What is known about the presidential elections in the Russian Federation

On December 8, the current head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, announced his intention to seek re-election as President for the fifth time, making a promise to the speaker of the so-called "DPR parliament".

As Reuters claimed, re-election would allow the dictator to remain in power until at least 2030. Meanwhile, the press secretary of the President of Russia, Dmitriy Peskov, assures that Putin will allegedly be re-elected for the next term with the result of more than 90% of the votes.

According to the decision of the Russian Central Committee, the presidential elections in Russia will last three days for the first time — from March 15 to 17. In particular, the terrorists plan to hold the so-called "elections" in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

As part of preparations for the elections, the occupiers have already begun to bring "agitators" to the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
