What has changed after the MOD decision to simplify the MMC passing for military servicemen

From now on, healthcare institutions can exchange several documents with military units and recruiting centres through the electronic document circulation system.

Documents for MMC can be sent online

Passing the Military Medical Commission (MMC) has been simplified for wounded soldiers. Soldiers no longer need to carry documents personally to the military unit after the MMC decision on leave or unfitness.

The electronic document circulation system included:

  • Certificates about the circumstances of the injury (wounds, contusions, mutilations);

  • MMC resolution on the need for leave for treatment;

  • MMC resolution on unfitness for military service;

  • other documents necessary for forming an MMC decision.

The system was deployed in most military units, military recruiting centres (MRC), and joint ventures, particularly in military hospitals and civilian security facilities, where wounded soldiers undergo medical examinations.

How the system works

The healthcare institution will send in electronic form documents about the MMC decision regarding leave or unfitness due to health conditions to the military unit. After that, the military service members can immediately go to the MRC at their residence or on vacation.

After processing the MMC decision, the military unit will send the relevant documents for the serviceman directly to MRS.

In particular, the healthcare institution can receive additional documents necessary to form the MMC conclusion from the military unit. This is, for example, a certificate about the circumstances of the injury. To do this, you only need to send an electronic request.

As MOD Deputy Chief Kateryna Chernogorenko explained, digitalization of the process will save time in obtaining documents and reduce the need to travel extra kilometres in person.

If the institution does not have an electronic document management system, contact the Ministry of Defense hotline at 0 800 500 442.

Upon receipt of such information, a team of specialists will provide the indicated institution with access to the electronic document flow and adjust its operation, the Ukrainian MOD adds.
