The authoritative American publication The New York Times learned that Tel Aviv was well aware of Hamas' plans to attack Israel a year before the invasion.

The Hamas attack on Israel was not a surprise

According to the journalists, they had a document at their disposal, which describes a systematic assault aimed at destroying the fortifications around Gaza, capturing Israeli cities and storming vital military bases, in particular, the headquarters of the division.

This document has 40 pages. Official Tel Aviv calls it the "Jericho Wall".

What is essential to understand is that it describes in great detail the same devastating invasion that killed 1,200 people.

In addition, it is emphasized that representatives of the IDF and Israeli intelligence knew about this plan but ignored it because they did not believe that the terrorists would be able to implement it.

The militants executed the corresponding plan with shocking accuracy. The document referred to a flurry of rockets at the start of the attack, drones to disable surveillance cameras and automatic machine guns along the border. In addition, it is about a mass invasion of militants on the territory of Israel on paragliders, motorcycles and on foot.

Did the leader of Israel know about this plan

According to journalists, the document mentioned was widely distributed among the Israeli military and intelligence chiefs.

However, they were all convinced that an attack of this scale and ambition was beyond the capabilities of Hamas.

It has not yet been possible to determine whether Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu or other senior political leaders have seen the relevant document.

Last year, shortly after receiving the document, the official representatives of the Israeli military division in Gaza, which is responsible for protecting the border with it, said that they were unclear about the intentions of Hamas.
