The police have identified two children who died on January 6 during rocket attacks by the Russian army on the village of Rivne and Pokrovsk. Currently, the examination is ongoing.

Criminalists have already managed to identify a seven-year-old boy who died in the village of Rivne and a 14-year-old boy who died in Pokrovsk.

It remains to identify two more dead children - boys aged 9 and 16. Identification is ongoing, the police said.

What is known about the attack on the Pokrovsky district in Donetsk region

The Russian army launched rocket attacks on the Pokrovsky district of the Donetsk region around 3:00 p.m. on January 6.

As the head of the regional administration, Vadym Filashkin, reported, S-300 missiles were aimed at residential buildings in the village of Rivne of the Mirnograd community and Pokrovsk. There were also hits in Zvirovo of the Pokrovsky community, there were no wounded or dead.

According to the operational information of the regional administration and the police, at least 11 people, including five children, were victims of the Russian strikes. The bodies of the dead were searched under the rubble until the evening of January 8. Examination of body fragments found at the site is still ongoing. As of January 10, seven dead have been identified, three in Pokrovsk — a 34-year-old man and two women aged 37 and 39.

In the village of Rivne, a house where a family was staying was directly hit: three adults and three children were killed.

According to the information of the Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko, as of the evening of January 8, it was possible to identify the three dead - a three-year-old girl, her father and mother, 32 and 30 years old. Also, on January 10, the police reported that a 59-year-old grandmother had died.

The Russian Federation struck the houses in the village of Rivne for the first time, said Yury Tretyak, the deputy head of the Myrnograd Administration. In total, more than 80 buildings were damaged.
