As a result of a gas explosion in the garage of a two-story private house in Lviv on the evening of December 23, three people died. The police opened a criminal case.

The police established that the gas explosion occurred in the garage of a private house, as a result of which part of it was destroyed.

During the analysis of the rubble, the bodies of an 82-year-old woman and men aged 37 and 75 were discovered.

Three people were taken to medical institutions with injuries: a seven-year-old boy, an 11-year-old girl and a 74-year-old man.

Gas explosion in Lviv on December 23

It is known that the explosion occurred at 20:48 in one of the buildings on Knyagynia Olga Street. The blast destroyed the supporting walls of a private house. A fire started on the spot.

An investigative-operational group, criminalists and employees of other police services of the Lviv region, as well as patrol police officers, worked at the scene of the incident.

Law enforcement officers blocked traffic on Knyagynia Olga Street from Sakharova Street to Volodymyr Velykyi Street toward Naukova Street.

Six people lived in the house where the explosion occurred.
