The Czech Republic found a way to get more than three million shells of two calibers for Ukraine. But this requires additional funding from partner countries.
Pavel promises artillery shells for Ukraine
The President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, said that his country found an opportunity to provide Ukraine with the artillery shells it so desperately needs for the war with Russia.
Pavel announced this in Munich at the "Ukrainian lunch" organized by the Pinchuk Foundation.
Pavel spoke at a panel discussion with the participation of the leaders of 5 EU member states and commented on the problems with the supply of weapons and ammunition for the Armed Forces. He stated that Prague has found a way to organize such supplies.
Pavel stated that the Czech Republic "looks for military supplies around the world, and then works with our NATO partners," and singled out Denmark, the Netherlands, and Canada, which provided resources to supply military equipment to the Czech Republic.
Pavel is sure that the Czech Republic has succeeded in the search.
So far, we have found half a million 155 mm shells, and 3 million 122 mm shells, which we can ship (to Ukraine) in a few weeks, if we can find the funding for it. We will turn to partners in the USA, Germany, Sweden, etc. for this help.
