Armenian leader Nikol Pashinyan has reacted sharply to the statements of controversial Russian diplomat Maria Zakharova that the 9 November agreements on Karabakh have not been implemented largely because of Yerevan.

Conflict between Russia and Armenia is escalating again

Nikol Pashinyan publicly advised Putin's henchmen to take the tripartite statement from November 9 and read up to and including point 8, as official Moscow pretends that it still does not understand who and what obligations have not been fulfilled.

So the trilateral statement of 9 November says that Azerbaijan should attack the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh, while Russian peacekeepers should remain in hiding? — the Armenian leader was surprised by Zakharova's accusations.

Nikol Pashinyan once again decided to remind the Kremlin leader's team that the Russian peacekeeping contingent was sent to Nagorno-Karabakh to protect the civilian population on the basis of a decision of the Federal Assembly of Russia.

Where is the civilian population of Nagorno-Karabakh now? — the politician asked.

Armenia also hinted at leaving the CSTO

Against the backdrop of deteriorating relations between official Moscow and Yerevan, Nikol Pashinyan for the first time publicly stated that Armenia was considering withdrawing from the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO).

Our CSTO partners must also understand us. If we, as CSTO members, cannot get the necessary help and support, and at the same time, membership is an insurmountable obstacle to receiving assistance from other parties, then we must make decisions based on our own interests, the Armenian leader said, not hiding his reproaches to the Russian dictator.

As mentioned earlier, the key reason for the conflict between Yerevan and Moscow was Azerbaijan's lightning-fast operation to regain control of Nagorno-Karabakh.

At that time, the Russian authorities did not help Armenia in any way.
