The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has provided evidence that the criminal army of the Russian Federation continues to receive and use Western components to produce its own weapons and use them in the war against Ukraine.

What is known about evidence of Russia's use of Western components in its own weapons

According to Andriy Rudyk, a representative of the Centre for Research on Trophy and Advanced Weapons and Military Equipment of the General Staff, the Russian occupiers use intermediary companies to circumvent Western sanctions.

In particular, Rudyk demonstrated microchips seized from Russian weapons.

According to him, Western-made microchips are inside:

  • Kh-101 missiles;

  • Shahed drones;

  • Orlan drones;

  • Breakthrough tanks;

  • RSZV Tornado, a multiple rocket launcher.

He also showed a printed circuit board taken from a Russian Kh-101 missile, a navigation unit for artillery, and a device for protecting and encrypting information.

The representative of the General Staff stressed that in the Kh-101 missiles used by the enemy to destroy Ukrainian infrastructure, only a platform for placing microchips on it is made in Russia.

In what other weapons does Russia use Western components

Not only in Russian missiles, but also in drones. Everything related to electronics and high technology is of foreign origin. That is, foreign components, - emphasised Rudyk.

As the specialist stated, one of the chips is designed to perform special calculations and compare coordinates. In particular, to record whether the missile has deviated from its course or is flying exactly to the target.

At the same time, Andriy Rudyk did not deny that sanctions against Russia are not in effect. He confirmed that the restrictions did make it difficult for the occupiers to produce weapons. However, obviously, not to the extent needed.
