According to Volodymyr Fityo, head of the press service of the Ground Forces Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the Russian invaders are continuing their attempts to capture Kupyansk and return lost positions to the north and south of Bakhmut.
In general, over the last 2 weeks, the enemy suffered lost 4214 soldiers and more than 500 units of military equipment on the line of responsibility of the "Khortytsia" operational-strategic group. The losses are insane, the losses are large, but despite this, the enemy continues to use assaults, tries to find weak points in the Ukrainian defense, uses "meat assaults". There are sections of the front where the infantry cannot approach, because they are shot at while approaching, where the enemy uses equipment more actively. However, accordingly, the equipment is destroyed immediately with the enemy. But, there are areas of the front where enemy attacks are carried out with the help of infantry assaults, - emphasized Fityo.
According to him, attacks by Russian war criminals continue in the Kupyansk region.

Fityo noted that during the past 24 hours in the areas of Lyman and Kupyansk, the enemy carried out 11 airstrikes against the positions of the Ukrainian military using the entire appropriate arsenal of bomber and fighter aircraft and fire support helicopters.
The enemy used 16 strike drones, fired 692 shots. All the actions of the Russian occupiers in this direction remain unsuccessful.
The enemy does not abandon its plans for Kupiansk and its reoccupation. The Russian occupation forces have no success in this direction. Over the past day alone, our defenders killed 244 soldiers. Moreover, 30 units of Russian military equipment were destroyed," emphasised the spokesman.
The situation in the Bakhmut axis is also "in an active phase". Ukrainian defenders are in active defence and are improving their tactical position whenever they have the opportunity.
Over the last day, 15 enemy attacks were repelled, including in Ivanivske, Andriivka and Klishchiyivka. The enemy launched one air strike and used 33 strike drones, fired 526 times at Ukrainian positions. In the Bakhmut sector, 122 enemy soldiers and 15 pieces of military equipment were destroyed," said Fitio.
The head of the public relations service of the command of the Ground Forces noted that the intensity of Russian shelling on the Lyman-Kupian and Bakhmut directions remains, on both directions of the front it is practically at the same level.
