The Russian army has changed the tactics of shelling the energy system of Ukraine

The Russians realized that they would not be able to cause much damage to the entire energy system.

What is known about the shelling of the energy system of Ukraine

Russia has changed its tactics regarding the shelling of Ukraine's energy system. Now the occupiers are attacking energy facilities in some regions every day in order to affect the country's economy.

The Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko told about this on the air of the telethon on Sunday, February 25.

If last winter they massively attacked the energy system of the entire country in order to achieve a blackout of the state, then this winter they chose a different tactic — they attack certain regions, that is, the energy system of certain regions, primarily industrial ones. That is, they are trying to influence the economy through the energy industry in order to stop the largest productions, - explained the minister.

As Galushchenko explained, the Russians realized that they would not be able to cause much damage to the entire energy system, so they changed their tactics.

What is important is that last winter, when up to 2,000 missiles and drones were used to strike the entire power system, they were actually defeated.

Shelling of TPP in Ukraine

In Russia, it has become common practice to fire at energy facilities in Ukraine, including thermal power plants. Since the beginning of this heating season, the DTEK thermal power plant has been fired upon by the enemy about 40 times. For example, at the beginning of January 2024, invaders attacked the substation and the thermal power station - then the mine and miners underground were left without power, and a fire started.

We will remind, on November 12, 2023, it was reported that in the last three weeks, the Russian Federation fired three times at one of the TPPs of DTEK Energo. The occupiers also attacked the TPP in the evening of November 7. At that time, a thermal power plant in the front-line region also came under fire.
