Russia has concentrated large forces in Avdiivka area of the Donetsk region and, despite numerous losses, is not making any progress in this direction.
What is known about the situation in the Avdiivka area
According to Oleksandr Shtupun, the spokesman of the United Press Center of the Defence Forces of the Tavria Operational-Strategic Group, Russian war criminals have resumed the active use of armored vehicles during assaults in Avdiivka area, but this is not helping them.
I don't want to give predictions, but at the moment nothing is working out for them, Shtupun emphasised.
He noted that currently the enemy has concentrated 40,000 troops in the Avdiivka area, and has transferred up to 160,000 occupiers to the Tavria direction.
Shtupun emphasised that during last week a very small number of Russian troops surrendered to the Ukrainian military.
What is known about the captured occupiers
According to him, the Russian occupiers often decide to commit suicide.
When they have, excuse me, 10 bullets fired from our ammunition in them, then, usually, in order not to endure the pain, they shoot themselves,’’ Shtupun explains.
He also emphasised that the highest number of combat clashes was recorded in the Avdiiv direction.
The enemy again began to actively use armored vehicles to support and disembark the infantry. Usually these are 2 tanks and several armored personnel carriers, infantry fighting vehicles on which the infantry is placed. Tanks are almost always destroyed, that is, they are rarely able to leave their infantry fighting vehicles and armored personnel carriers for disembarking infantry and try to escape themselves,’’ Shtupun says.
The spokesman of the Tavria OSMU noted that during the last three days, the Russian occupiers lost 41 units of armored vehicles in the Tavria direction.
According to him, criminals from the Russian army actively use large-caliber artillery, self-propelled mortars Tulip and means of radio-electronic warfare.
Shtupun noted that the enemy continues to use Kh-51 chemical munitions.
