The Russian army hit a UIPA D-30SN on a residential building in Mirnograd on the night of March 10. At first, it was believed that the strike was carried out from the S-300.

The Russians are testing newly released weapons at the front in Ukraine

Only a few days ago, there was information that the enemy started using a new weapon — UIPA D-30SN glide bombs, which are an analogue of American SDBs, including the possibility of launching from ground launchers, just like GLSDB.

This was reported by Defense Express.

So, on March 10, it was officially reported about an enemy attack with these weapons on the rear area - on the city of Myrnograd in the Donetsk region.

During the telethon, Dmytro Lykhovii, the spokesman of the "Tavria" Air Force Base, said that three UIPA D-30SNs were struck at a residential building, as a result of which 5 people were injured, including a teenager, and apartment buildings were damaged.

In this way, the blow was struck at a depth of more than 30 km from the front edge. At first, it was believed that the strike was carried out from the S-300 air defense system.

It should be noted that the enemy uses bombs from UMPK mostly to hit the forward positions of our defenders, and not to strike at the rear, which is due to the fact that the range of dropping such sets is 50-70 km.

Thus, if it was an airstrike, the range of the D-30SN UIPA is greater, or these bombs were launched from a ground launcher. In the role of the latter, the Russian Federation declares the modernization of the Smerch anti-aircraft missile defense system — Tornado-S.

In this way, the use of the D-30SN anti-aircraft missile defense system may turn out to be more massive, and not isolated, as is usually the case with any new type of weapon.

At the same time, unlike the UMPK, it seems quite likely that the UIPA D-30SN, which stands for "Universal Interspecies Planing Ammunition", is most likely a newly created ammunition, and not a set for conventional bombs. This means that its production cannot be similar to UMPK, which is really mass-produced in the city of Korolev near Moscow, and it itself is more expensive.

What is known about Russia's shelling of Mirnograd
