The Russian authorities announced that the air defence intercepted a drone that was allegedly flying to Moscow in the suburbs of Moscow.

The Russian Air Defense Forces allegedly shot down a drone in the Bogorod city district of the Moscow region, which was flying to the capital of the Russian Federation.

There are no previous reports of damage or injuries due to falling debris. Emergency services are working on the spot, said Moscow mayor.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation also reported on the alleged aborted attempt to attack Moscow with the help of a drone.

Explosions in the Russian Federation

In 2023, the number of strike drone attacks increased in several Russian Federation regions. Also, something often burns or explodes on Russian territory. Various areas are under attack, including Moscow.

In particular, on the evening of November 10, explosions rang out near the "Design Bureau of Mechanical Engineering" (KBM) corporation in the Moscow region, where the missiles "Kinzhals" and "Iskanders" are produced.

One of the most significant attacks was on the night of July 30, when unknown drones hit the business center of the Russian capital — "Moscow City". The drones got to the so-called "government tower", where the offices of the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Ministry of Communications of the Russian Federation are located.

On October 29, a drone attacked the Afip oil refinery in the Krasnodar region of Russia, where a fire broke out.

Also, on October 15, the SSU showed a video of a successful attack on the Krasna Yaruga electrical substation in the Belgorod region.

On October 5, drones attacked infrastructure facilities in the Kursk and Belgorod regions. A fire broke out in Krasnoyarsk Krai.

On November 16, Russian mass media announced that the Russian Federation had taken measures to protect critical infrastructure and strengthen air defence in Moscow and 16 other regions.

Brigadier General Serhiy Baranov recently stated that Ukrainian troops are preparing for a large-scale winter attack on various regions of Russia with the help of kamikaze drones.
