National Resistance Centre: Russians force the abducted Ukrainian children to listen to the lectures of the PMC Wagner mercenaries

Wagner Group

Ukrainian children abducted by the occupiers to re-education camps are forced to listen to Wagner Group lectures. Schoolchildren are being fed false information attempting to glorify the criminal actions of the Russian army and its mercenaries.

Wagner mercenaries give lectures to Ukrainian children kidnapped by Russia

In particular, children are shown "dialogues with heroes" in which terrorists promote the war of Russia against Ukraine, the children's Motherland.

There was a case where a drug dealer from the disbanded PMC Wagner gave lectures, the report says.

It turned out that the "lecturer", whom the occupiers set as an example for Ukrainian children, was sentenced to 8 years and 2 months in prison in a maximum security colony in 2021 for illegal drug trafficking on a particularly large scale.

In 2022, he was recruited by the Wagner PMC and went to fight in Ukraine. Six months later, his contract expired, and now he gives "lessons of courage," according to the National Resistance Centre (NRC) in Ukraine.

What is known about the abduction of Ukrainian children

On the occasion of Children's Day in 2023, the Online.UA team presented the documentary project Crippled Childhood, which tells the stories of Ukrainian children who were abducted and forcibly deported to Russia.

Ukraine has identified 20,000 children who were abducted by Russia or taken to Russian-controlled territory without the consent of their families or guardians.

Around 400 children have been returned to Ukraine since the start of the Russian invasion in February 2022, but the UN human rights agency has expressed concern that there is no system in place to facilitate returns.

At the same time, Russia claims to have "evacuated" 744,000 Ukrainian children. Since diplomacy with the aggressor country is not working, Russia continues to illegally take children from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
