He is charged with Part 3 of Article 110-2 of the Criminal Code, i.e. financing actions committed with the aim of violent change or overthrow of the constitutional order or seizure of state power, changing the boundaries of the territory or state border of Ukraine.

Friedman faces up to 8 years in prison with confiscation of property.

What is Mikhail Fridman suspected of

In September, the SSU served a notice of suspicion to Russian oligarch Mikhail Fridman.

The service noted that the oligarch since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine:

  • used his business resources for the mass distribution of dry rations, clothing and other products under the trademark "Army of Russia".

  • organized the collection of material and technical assistance for the needs of the occupying groups of the Russian Federation fighting in Ukraine.

  • used insurance companies to insure military equipment, life and health of the Russian invaders.

  • ensured the cooperation of his telecommunications company with the FSB, which allowed him to conduct mobile communications in the temporarily occupied regions of Ukraine.
