As a result of the blockade of four checkpoints on the Ukrainian-Polish border, the export of goods decreased by 40%. The State Budget of Ukraine lost 9.3 billion hryvnias due to non-payment of customs payments.
Consequences of the blockade on the Ukrainian-Polish border
The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy chief, Danylo Hetmantsev, stated that this is a decisive blow to the Ukrainian economy and exports.
He added that today, there is also a 19% under-fulfilment of the customs plan, although there was an over-fulfilment in October.
According to Hetmantsev, the governments of countries whose carriers are blocking the border should not wait until the situation becomes critical.
Blocking checkpoints on the border with Ukraine
On November 6, Polish truckers began a strike and blocked several checkpoints, including "Yagodyn — Dorogusk", "Krakivets — Korchova", "Rava-Ruska — Grebene", "Sheghyni — Medyka".
Carriers put forward demands, including:
restoration of permissive relations with Ukraine;
strengthening of transport regulations;
ban on registering companies in Poland if their finances and accounting are located outside the EU;
obtaining access to the Ukrainian system "The Way";
division of separate queues for EU cars in the "eCherga" system;
allocation of different lines for empty vehicles.
On December 1, in Warsaw, Ukraine and Poland agreed to open the "Ugryniv — Dolgobychiv" crossing point to pass empty trucks to increase the capacity of the border and reduce the load on other crossing points.
The following steps will be the creation of separate passes for empty vehicles in the "eCherga" system at the "Yagodyn — Dorogusk" and "Krakivets — Korchova" checkpoints.
As well as the launch of a pilot project with registration in "eCherga" immediately before crossing the border at the checkpoint "Nyzhankovychi — Malhovice" for one month.
