Recently, Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he plans to "reset" the government; in particular, he is considering the dismissal of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valerii Zaluzhnyi. The adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Mykhailo Podoliak, explained the president's words.

Podolyak commented on Zelenskyy's statements about power reboot

According to the adviser to the head of the Ukrainian People's Liberation Army, Ukrainians should not forget about the political responsibility of the country's president.

The president is a position that the citizens of the country elect. In addition, the President is the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. That is, he is responsible for what is happening in our country on the front line, in the economy, and in social relations in the country. This is all the president's responsibility. Everything else is vertical. Either those that are directly subordinate to the president or go through the procedure of parliamentary encouragement.

Why Zelenskyy thought about the resignment of Zaluzhnyi

According to Mykhailo Podoliak, the main reason for the probable resignation of Zaluzhnyi and a number of others is the effort "to avoid stagnation and freezing of the conflict."

In addition, it is emphasised that Volodymyr Zelenskyy cannot afford the kind of stagnation we are currently witnessing in two years of war.

Because this is already a long war, well, two years. And this already has corresponding effects on the psycho-emotional state of people. Not only in Ukraine, but also among our partners. People begin to get tired, disappointed, they do not see what will happen in the future. We cannot allow the conflict to freeze. After all, this will mean that everything has been preserved in the Russian Federation, Mykhailo Podolyak explained.
