The Ukrainian MOD is working on strengthening the artillery of Ukraine

In January 2024, the "Artillery Coalition" will begin work in Paris to support the Ukrainian Army. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Ivan Gavrylyuk, during a meeting with the delegation of the Senate of the French Parliament.

He emphasised that it is essential for Ukraine to increase its firepower thanks to the supply of artillery systems by the allies.

In particular, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are interested in procuring Caesar's self-propelled howitzers for their needs.

The Caesar self-propelled guns demonstrated high efficiency and accuracy in battle, Ivan Gavryliuk said.

In 2024, tests of fire control of Caesar self-propelled howitzers using artificial intelligence are planned.

According to the Deputy Minister of Defense, AI will reduce the use of ammunition for aiming and hitting targets by 30%.

At the same time, Ivan Gavrylyuk called on the French side to contribute to increasing the amount of ammunition for Caesar self-propelled howitzers.

The Caesar self-propelled howitzer is a self-propelled artillery system of a new generation. It allows one to hit enemy targets at a distance of 20 km or more from the front line with high accuracy. Artillery, reserves, and enemy control points are usually located this distance. Their destruction reduces the offensive potential of the enemy.

Several arms contracts between Ukraine and France have been signed, including the supply of Caesar self-propelled howitzers.

Paris tripled the production of Caesar self-propelled howitzers. Due to this, Ukraine can get much more of these howitzers.
