The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, after a trip to the USA, arrived on a visit to Norway. As part of the visit, he will be received by the Prime Minister of Norway, Jonas Har Støre.

What is known about Zelenskyy's visit to Norway

Ukraine's president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, arrived in Oslo to participate in the second "Ukraine — Northern Europe" Summit. In particular, bilateral negotiations with its participants are planned.

He arrived in Oslo to participate in the second Ukraine-Northern Europe Summit. Together with the leaders of Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Finland and Sweden, we will talk about strengthening defense, political and economic cooperation, about our common future in Europe, Zelenskyy said, adding that the main goal is security and a just and durable peace on the continent.

The president will also hold bilateral talks with the participants of the Summit.

I will meet with His Majesty King Harald V, visit the Storting, talk with Norwegian politicians and businessmen. I would personally like to thank Norway for all the very timely and principled support it has provided to Ukraine since the start of the full-scale invasion, he added.

How Norway supports Ukraine

On September 19, it became known that Norway would provide Ukraine with about 50 tracked transporters, M548 (NM199), for off-road cargo transportation as part of military aid.

On October 4, the Norwegian government outlined plans to increase the country's defence budget by 20%, emphasising supporting Ukraine.

On October 11, the country decided to allocate 200 million Norwegian kroner (about 17.4 million euros) to Ukraine for demining the territory.

On October 18, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine reported that the Norwegian government allocated 1.5 billion kroner to ensure the import of gas and electricity to Ukraine through the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

On November 13, Norway allocated 1 billion kroner (approximately 84.1 million euros or 89.8 million dollars) for humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

On November 22, the country contributed NOK 240 million (approximately $22 million) to the Trust Fund for the Support of the Reconstruction and Economy of Ukraine (SURE), established by the World Bank's Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA).

Also, as is known, Norway is one of the participants in the coalition regarding the F-16 for Ukraine. In partnership with Britain, it will contribute to the strategic strengthening of Ukraine's naval forces.

In addition, in cooperation with its neighbours, the country will buy artillery shells for Ukraine and regularly provide humanitarian aid funds.
