According to the British Secretary of Defense Grant Shepps, this was the most significant attack by the Houthis in the Red Sea.
Deploying Sea Viper missiles and guns, the HMS Diamond destroyed several kamikaze drones heading towards it and a commercial vessel in the area, while Diamond or its crew were not injured, Shepps said.
The attack came ahead of a UN Security Council vote scheduled for Wednesday to condemn and demand an immediate end to rebel attacks on merchant and commercial vessels in the Red Sea.
