The ISW team concluded the Kremlin's attempts to create an artificial migration crisis at the Finnish border were a failure after all.
Finland was able to repel Russia
What is essential to understand is that official Helsinki did everything possible to thwart the plans of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
Thus, on November 27, Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo officially confirmed that his country will close the last border crossing point with Russia "if necessary."
According to him, the Finnish government is ready to take additional measures in response to the artificial migration crisis created by Russia.
As mentioned earlier, on November 23, Finland closed three checkpoints on the Finnish-Russian border, leaving only the northernmost checkpoint open.
Several other Finnish government officials have also spoken to support closing the entire border with Russia.
Why a new conflict broke out between Finland and Russia
As journalists managed to find out from their insiders, the first deputy head of the Russian presidential administration, Sergey Kiriyenko, instructed the head of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Vladimir Kolokoltsev, to collect migrants from the Middle East, Africa and other regions and send them to the Finnish border.
The Kremlin complained that Finnish border guards do not allow most migrants to enter the territory of Finland and that because of this, the Russian authorities are forced to resettle them on the part of the aggressor country.
