The US imposed sanctions against the Russian MOD assets

On January 11, the Ashuluk training ground and the Vladimir prospective military research complex of the Russian MOD came under US sanctions. The United States also imposed restrictions against Vladimir Mikheichyk, the general director of OJSC "State Air Company "224th Separate Aviation Detachment".

The USA approved new anti-Russian sanctions

The United States of America introduced new sanctions against Russia on January 11. The assets of Russia's Ministry of Defense have come under restrictions.

The US Treasury Department reports this.

It is noted that the Ashuluk training ground and the Vladimir Prospective Military Research complex have come under restrictions.

The Ashuluk Russian Armed Forces landfill is located in the Astrakhan region, east of the Ashuluk railway station, bordering Kazakhstan. It is intended for testing the anti-aircraft missile warfare of air defence forces and conducting military exercises with its use.

The United States also imposed restrictions against Vladimir Mikheichik, the general director of OJSC "State Air Company "224th Separate Aviation Detachment".

The 224th Flight Squadron is a Russian aviation enterprise with a Russian MOD subsidiary. The airline provides air transportation in the interests of state structures and non-regular cargo commercial transportation in Russia and abroad.

Separately, Washington imposed sanctions against three Russian Il-76MD heavy military transport aircraft.

US sanctions against Russia

Recently, the White House National Security Council coordinator John Kirby stated that the United States wants to introduce additional sanctions against those who facilitate the weapons supply between Russia and North Korea and between the Russian Federation and Iran.

Bloomberg also wrote that there are growing signs that oil flows to Russia may face disruptions following the US sanctions strengthening against traders and oil shipping companies.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia has learned to circumvent Western sanctions imposed against Moscow for its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
