The US made a fateful decision regarding Ukraine on the AFU Day

The White House
Joe Biden

The White House officially announced the strengthening of cooperation between the defense and industrial bases of the United States and Ukraine, as well as the start of joint production of weapons.

Ukraine and the United States will jointly produce weapons

As the press service of the White House reports, officials in Kyiv and Washington signed the Statement on a plan for joint production and exchange of technical data to meet the Ukrainian army's most critical operational needs.

According to the latest data, the production will concern air defense systems, repair and technical support and production of critical ammunition.

According to Joe Biden's team, this will provide an opportunity to strengthen cooperation between Washington and Kyiv and contribute to faster passage of investment deals through the systems.

Today, Ukrainian Armed Forces Day, the United States government hosted the first day of the US-Ukrainian Defense Industrial Base Conference at the Department of Commerce in Washington, DC. The conference brought together around 350 industry and government representatives from the US, Ukraine and Europe to focus on significantly increasing arms production to support Ukraine's fight for freedom against Russian aggression and to strengthen Ukraine's long-term self-defense, the statement said.

The decision of the Biden administration was made against the background of the failure of the issue of aid to Ukraine

The White House drew attention to the fact that the American and Ukrainian authorities planned to develop a solid Ukrainian defense and industrial base together, providing for itself and contributing to Ukraine's long-term security and economic success.

In the first stage of negotiations, the parties focused on institutionalizing relations and dialogue between industry and state partners.

However, on December 7, it also became known that the Republican Party refused to support a bill in Congress to provide additional money to guarantee national security, which assists Ukraine.

Joe Biden called it "political blackmail".
