According to the European diplomat, even though these two wars are significantly different, the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is already affecting the policy of Western leaders towards our country.
During my last trip to Washington (with the President of the European Commission and the President of the European Council — Ed.), I had the opportunity to directly express my concerns to President Biden and my colleague Anthony Blinken that international support for Ukraine may begin to erode in light of what is seen as " the practice of double standards". This is a real problem, and all of you must work to counter it, Josep Borrell stressed.
The head of European diplomacy also drew attention to the fact that many countries of the so-called Global South still consider the Russian-Ukrainian war to be a regional rather than a global problem.
According to the representative of the European Union, they also cynically claim that this problem is of primary concern to the West, which is why he wants to "solve it quickly because they could not bear the consequences of this war."
And these countries will take advantage of the crisis in the Middle East to emphasize what they see as contradictions in our position, or as contradictions between the Europeans themselves, which was manifested during the last vote for the resolution in the UN General Assembly, Borrell warned.
Borrell explained why Ukraine cannot lose the war to the Russian Federation under any circumstances
According to the EU's chief diplomat, the defeat of Ukraine in the war with Russia will be the defeat of the whole of Europe, so such a development cannot be allowed.
Do not forget about Ukraine. Ukraine continues its struggle against Russian aggression. If Ukraine loses, we will also lose. We must maintain unanimity and unity in supporting Ukraine. We are the main aid provider. We are, even more than the US, because you know the numbers, Josep Borrell said.
