A few months ago, Avdiivka became the main target of the Russian invaders. However, the enemy cannot capture it. The losses of the Russian army in manpower reach catastrophic figures.

What is really happening around Avdiivka

As noted by the reserve colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, military expert Petro Chernyk, the situation in Avdiivka as of today is really difficult.

What is important to understand is that it all started after the head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, ordered his army to take the city at any cost, as was the case with Bakhmut.

Petro Chernyk draws attention to the fact that in order to capture Bakhmut, whom the Russians wiped off the face of the earth, "22,000 of the "Wagner" PMCs alone were put to death in 10 months."

This is only one structure, not to mention regular troops - they lost no less. If all this is multiplied by the wounded, it turns out to be from 100 to 150 thousand. A few weeks ago, the ratio of personnel losses (in the Avdiyivka region, — ed.) was 1 to 15. This is something unthinkable. Even during the Second World War, there was nothing like this.

Why the probable loss of Avdiivka will not fundamentally change the situation at the front

According to the reserve colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, even if the Ukrainian defenders have to withdraw from Avdiyivka, nothing catastrophic will happen.

The situation with Bakhmut confirms this statement.

We were very afraid that if we left Bakhmut, everything would collapse. No, we are holding the neighborhood until now, the enemy cannot advance in any way. We have been doing this for a good year. (...) Battles can be lost. It is very important to win the war. And history is full of many such cases, - explained Petro Chernyk.
