A top official from the Kyiv City Military Administration helped the members of the Kyiv City Council to dodge military service. He was exposed by employees of the State Bureau of Investigations.
An official from the KCMA helped the draft dodgers
The SBI notes that the man illegally "sent" the draft dodgers from the military unit, allegedly on a business trip to the military administration of Kyiv.
He helped arrange the July 'business trip' for three Kyiv councillors and one of their assistants.
In August 2023, all four were notified of suspicion of military service evasion committed by prior conspiracy (Article 409(4), Article 28(2) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Currently, a senior official of the Kyiv City Military Administration has been notified of suspicion under the same articles. The sanction of the articles provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 10 years.
A scheme to evade mobilisation was exposed in Kyiv
In November, the SBI reported blocking an unprecedentedly large-scale mobilisation evasion scheme involving employees of 9 military commissariats mainly from Kyiv and the region, the head of the Makariv district military commissariat in Kyiv region and accomplices from other regions.
Participants in the scheme entered information about men who were removed from the register because they were unfit for service for health reasons.
According to the SBI, about 100 fugitives could have gone abroad under this scheme. The cost of the services ranged from $6,000 to $10,000.
