On the territory of the United States of America, the training of Ukrainian pilots to operate F-16 fighter jets has already begun.

Ukrainian pilots study in the USA

As reported in the Pentagon, the Ministry of Defense is already participating in the training of ready Ukrainian pilots to fly the F-16 aircraft. In parallel, the issue of providing Ukraine with spare parts for these aircraft is being resolved.

The department also noted that the Ukrainian military is undergoing F-16 training in the United States and Europe.

The Pentagon recalled that earlier this year, the US State Department announced its readiness to approve the transfer of US-made F-16 aircraft to Ukraine by a third party. The Netherlands, Denmark and Norway have announced their intention to make the supply by withdrawing aircraft from their air forces.

In order to guarantee Ukrainian pilots success in the operation of the F-16, they undergo training in the USA and Europe in both flight operation and maintenance, the US Ministry of Defense noted.

According to US Deputy Secretary of Defense for Procurement and Logistics Bill Laplante, without spare parts, the F-16 fighter jets that the Ukrainians will fly could be decommissioned in a few months. Therefore, the USA plans to create a stock of spare parts for aircraft for 90 days.

We will not allow this to happen. And if other countries do not provide spare parts, we will find and provide them, Laplante said.

What is known about the F-16 for Ukraine

We will remind you that several allies of Ukraine have agreed to provide our country with F-16 fighter jets. For example, the United States of America has already started pilot training on American fighter jets.

In particular, on November 7, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed information that Dutch F-16s had arrived in Romania to train Ukrainians.

In addition, Bucharest opened the European Training Center at the Fetesti Air Force Base; however, as of November 13, the training has not yet begun.

Recently, the spokesman of the Air Force of Ukraine, Yuriy Ignat, said that the pilots began to undergo practical training on the F-16 already in the air.
